Veggies

I recently bought a basket from Bountiful Baskets Food Co-op. They deliver produce to drop off locations around town. All you have to do is sign up a few days in advance and then go pick up your food on the day of the dropoff. I also did an optional add on of 5 loaves of whole wheat bread. The total for everything was $30. Was this a good deal? I am trying to decide if I want to do it again.
3 onions
4 tomatos
3 avacados
1 large bunch bananas
1 head lettuce
1 bunch spinach
1 large broccoli crown
about 9 oranges
blackberries
1 bunch radishes
large bag of grapes

Sick

We have all been sick lately. Our house has been host to pinkeye, step throat, colds, allergies, and RSV. It has been exhausting trying to make sure everyone gets their medicine, the humidifiers are cleaned and plugged in, fevers are brought down, and kids have hugs and snuggles. RJ and I have missed more work this month alone than we usually do in a year.

We were at Goodwill this weekend to look for an umbrella stroller and some other things. We were not there to shop for toys. However, Stirling saw this puppy as soon as we walked in the door and pulled it around the whole store the entire time we were there saying "here puppy, come on little puppy." At home he has been pretending to be a puppy, and has been pulling around a little toy on a string pretending that it is his puppy. I told him a few times that I wasn't going to buy him any toys today. And I meant it. But he was just so excited, so I decided to come up with a way for me to keep my word that I wasn't going to buy him a toy, but he could still get it- he could buy it. So when we got home, he paid me back the $2 for his new puppy! Here is a photo of Stirling and his first purchase!

Logan is getting so big. He is now eight months old and is starting to pull himself up on things. I even caught him up one stair yesterday, so we finally had to break out the baby gate. He can't quite crawl, but is scooting around on his tummy, though he may be like Stirling and decide to walk early.

He is eating up most of the pureed food that we give him and sometimes will gum a cracker or cookie. You can see his two bottom teeth in that big grin. He was so happy with himself for making this huge mess!

Logan is such a cutie!

Tractor Rodeo!

Last Saturday I took the boys to a tractor rodeo! It was out in a little town near here called Wellton, which is about a forty-five minute drive away. It is the farthest from home I've gone with both boys by myself. The rodeo was at the Mohawk-Wellton Irrigation and Conservation District headquarters, on a playfield. They had a tractor pull kind of thing going on, but we didn't watch that since it was dusty and loud, and had no place to sit. Instead we went and looked at all the tractors and old engines they had on display.

Stirling got to climb up in a few tractors and pretend to push buttons.

There was also a jumpy castle for kids which Stirling really enjoyed.

We ate lunch, ("steak" according to Stirling, who smelled it and saw someone cooking at the grill) which included hamburgers and sausages. We also had ice cream, and Stirling rode a horse.

Logan was pretty content for most of the time. He liked looking around. Unfortunately, I hadn't brought a hat for him, since it was cloudy when we left the house, and he ended up getting just a little bit sunburned.

It was nice to do something different than the usual routine. It was also a day that reminded us of Opa and Ry, so we were thinking of them a lot.

Boys Room

Ok, so this is a little out of order since the boys have been sharing a room since before Christmas. I am behind on my blogs! Logan did fine moving from the bassinet to the big crib, and Stirling adjusted amazingly well to having Logan share with him. In fact, he was excited about it. "When can Logan sleep with me?" I think at first he thought Logan was going to sleep in his bed with him! They often go to bed at around the same time which is really nice.
We don't really have a single decorating scheme. Logan has all of the jungle animal crib bedding and a Noah's Ark wall blanket. Stirling has dinosaur bedding and a cuddly animal wall blanket. There are creepy crawlies on the curtains. Lots of good boy stuff! It is nice having them together. I like to peek in and just watch them sleeping sometimes.

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood...

... so I took the boys to the playground. After a few minutes playing, we decided to walk the path around the little pond, where Stirling decided to throw every leaf he could find into the water. Logan was so excited to be outside and sitting in the grass that he sat and laughed out loud for 20 minutes! What a wonderful afternoon.
