Logan is now a month old. Hard to believe time has gone that quickly. He has grown a lot in the last few weeks and is starting to fill out. His cute little dimpled knees are the encouragement I need when I get discouraged about breastfeeding. I do feel proud that I am helping my little guy in the best way I can by giving him the nourishment he needs, even when I am fed up with sitting down on the couch yet again instead of getting things done around the house, or playing with Stirling.


Logan has been receiving lots of gifts from family and friends. A coworker and neighbor of mine knew that Stirling would feel left out and brought him a little sand toy set. Since I didn't want to take Logan out and sit in the sand on the volleyball court in the 110 degree heat, I filled a tub with rice and let Stirling play with his toys in the kitchen. I have been sweeping and vacuuming up rice every day and am still finding it all over the house!


I have been trying to do a little project or something fun with Stirling every day. We have gone to the library story time and Jump-Up gym. I have also crashed a play group a few times. I say "crashed" becuase although I was invited to it, it is a group of Mormon moms from the same church and they have been meeting together for a long time. I don't go to church with them and am a newcomer, so I do feel a little out of place. But it is really nice to talk with other moms, and let Stirling play on the Burger King playground with the kids. (Burger King becuase it is too hot to go to the park like they do when the weather is cooler.)
Stirling and I also do a lot of crafts and baking to keep busy. Here is a pillow he sewed after requesting to use the sewing machine.

Time has gone quite quickly these last few weeks. RJ and I thought about moving to a larger place as we are outgrowing this apartment. After more consideration however, we decided to stay here. Since RJ is looking for a job and we could potentially move when that happens, we didn't want the hassle and expense of moving twice. So, to maximize the space we do have, I am (slowly) doing a clean out of STUFF, and making piles to take to Goodwill, as well as better organizing the STUFF we want to keep. It is a slow job between cleaning up after everday messes (see rice story above!) and spending so much time breastfeeding. Not to mention that I am exhasuted from being up all night! But I think I will feel better about the state of things when this project is completed. Or... maybe chaos will reign as long as we live with four people in a tiny apartment!
