Bear

A Teddy bear is a faithful friend
You can pick him up at either end.
His fur is the colour of breakfast toast,
And he's always there when you need him most.

20 Weeks - Half Way!

I just got back from a visit to my midwife. She says the baby's heartbeat sounds good, he is nice and active, and that I am the right size. However, she asked me if I was having problems with throwing up and keeping food down, and whether I had any appetitite! Apparently, my weight gain is not typical. I actually eat quite a bit now, but I think with both of my pregnancies, these little boys have been so active, they use up all my calories!

Home day

Whenever I get Stirling up in the moring instead of RJ, he asks, "is it home day?" (RJ gets him up during the school week.) Today was a home day and on Saturdays I always try to do something fun with Stirlng- JumpUp, the library, or the playground. This morning we went to the playground. Stirling has lately been telling me, "not the scary one, the one by the office." His formerly favorite castle playground is apparently now scary and he likes the one by the post office. He had fun playing with a few kids there and I have to brag- he heard a little 5-year old girl singing her ABC's and he sang his better than she did. What a smart boy!

Random Goings-On

Over my three week winter break, we came up with many ways to amuse ourselves!

Stirling colored an outline I made of him on butcher paper. He included eyes and ears with prompting, and put in socks and penis all by himself!

Canned goods made a great fort for all of Stirling's superheros.

I thought it would be fun for Stirling to have "squid-dogs" (poke dry spaghetti noodles through hot dog and boil) for dinner one night. He took one look and refused! Who can blame him?!?

Stirling has been enjoying coloring on the bathtub with the bath crayons that Antie Moira sent!

This is actually supposed to be a picture of the storage system I just got to go in the living room. I was tired of seeing all of the toys, so I got this shelf and basket system to hide the toys a little better. (hmmm... that worked great!) I will be going with the dark blue and light brown/tan fabric bins as soon as I can afford them. The black and ugly green are just temporary.

Stirling loves his books. I was a little hesitant to let him sit on a pile of them wearing only "big-boy" underwear, but it all worked out. Look how engrossed he is!

Week 18... I think

Here is my most recent pregnant shot. I think this is about week 18. I have finally had to start wearing maternity clothes and am not too excited about it. The pants are all cut too big in the hips and butt so they just look saggy. And I could wear some of my regular tops still, except they wouldn't cover the ugly elastic on the pants. Grrr.... Ok other than my irritation with the maternity clothes, I am doing very well. I have been feeling the baby move quite a bit and have had a good appetite. In fact, I've really had kind of a sweet tooth this time around. My veggies are being neglected in favor of Bottlecaps and chocolate!

We are having a.....

BOY!!! I went to the doctor on Tuesday the 4th, and the midwife asked if I wanted to know the sex. She wasn't sure if we would be able to see anything, but we got a view from underneath the baby and it was unmistakeable.... another boy!
