The Irene Reinhart Riverfront Trail is lovely in the fall. We have been there a few times lately- with Scouts, with friends, and for an afterschool walk.

We had a day of autumnal fun today. We headed northeast of town to Huffman Farms today for some time at the pumpkin patch. After visiting their animals and eating a hearty lunch at their barbecue stand, we went on a hayride, did a scavenger hunt through the corn maze and did some pumpkin picking.
This afternoon, the boys helped me decorate some fall themed sugar cookies before we had a picnic dinner and movie on the living room floor.
I know I am exhausted!

Silly Boys!
Stirling just participated in his first Pinewood Derby with his Cub Scout Troop. His car wasn't one of the fastest racers, but he did get an award for Crafting (design). What a fun activity for all those boys!

Scotland
In October, RJ and I traveled to Scotland for the wedding of a friend that RJ made while living there. Scotland was beautiful, the people were so friendly, and we really spent some nice days there.
RJ at Stirling Castle.
Stirling Castle.
Me with delicious (or not!) haggis in the little town Bridge of Allan.
View from our drive through the Cairngorns.
We went off the beaten path a bit and found a small stone circle.
I don't even remember the name of this place. It was on a few acres that had been turned into a national land trust/park. The grounds were free to walk around, but the castle itself charged more than we wanted to spend. A pretty place though.
The one night we didn't book reservations for a hotel, we found ourselves at a tiny fishing village along the coast - Johnshaven- at their only hotel above the pub. It was good food and a neat locale.
My favorite castle- Dunnottar. Ruined and mystical. Lonely and green. Beautiful.
This was the location of the wedding. Much fun was had here!
Lots of views of Edinburgh and the Edinburgh castle. We didn't end up with much time to spend here because we had a difficult time with finding the car rental return office and spent way to much time driving around.
We went in this cathedral- I thought it was quite interesting and full of history.
View of Edinburgh Castle from the bus back to the hotel.
