Not too much new lately... I did have spring break last week and spent a few days with a friend of mine who lives on the other side of the state. I hadn't seen her in about two years and hadn't met her youngest. I enjoyed staying up talking with her, going to the mall, and just hanging out with her and her husband and four kids. It was a good visit!
Stirling didn't appreciate the long car trip though- he always wants to be moving. On the trip over, we stopped at a Burger King with one of the playgrounds and he enjoyed toddling around after the other kids there. Some lady also came up and started talking to me about education, homeschooling, and babies. I thought for sure she was going to try to convert me, but she was just a lonely mom looking for an adult to talk to.
Other than that, I am just waiting until April 15th to make sure I have a job next year. My district alone is having to cut $6.6 million for next year. My vice principal said she hasn't talked to 2nd and 3rd year teachers yet, and is hoping she won't have to. I'm crossing my finger that she is right. I can't believe the state of education right now. It is looking to be a difficult couple of years- 35 kids in a class, salray reductions, no supplies, no nurses, librarians, counselors.... the list goes on. Keep all the teachers you know in your thoughts.
