Another hike :)

For father's day we went to check out the tiny village of Liberty north of Ellensburg.  Then we headed over to do a short hike up Red Top Mountain to the fire lookout tower up there.   It was a gorgeous day- blue skies, flowers in bloom up on the mountain, and fragrant summery smells in the forest.  The hike itself was short- half a mile- but all steep uphill.   The views were breathtaking and we could even see Mt. Rainier in the distance.  Once we got to the very tip top though, my enjoyment ended.  The tower is perched on a rocky outcropping at the peak of the mountain and surrounded by cliffs.  I got weak in the knees and started getting extreme anxiety about the boys getting too close to the edge.  I was near tears and made everyone head back down again.  :(  The way down was nice though!  I think RJ enjoyed our adventures, but probably would have liked more time to climb around on the rocks at the top of the peak!
